About
It all started when…
I was about to change my rap name from longliveadamariz to adamariz. A shift began to occur, in my spiritual life & artistically. At the time I had just dropped FINDING MYSELF EP, in 2021. That was the same year I lost my job. I remember thinking “these songs have album potential but I barely had the money to make the EP”. All 3 of the songs from the EP, have made their way to the album, in various ways. “LOST (Intro)” samples “LOST”, as well as “LOSING MYSELF”, which also samples “FINDING MYSELF”. The later song also made the album, in addition to a new take on the song titled “FOUND MYSELF”. “HE AIN’T GO AWAY”, was remixed and the hook transformed, and along with A3 on the hook, he also does a verse on this version of the song. MvkeyyJ, was added into the remix and brought fresh life to the second verse.
“LIFT ME UP (I’M CHOSEN)” & “SAVIOR”, both produced by okaywarren, were released as singles earlier this year. What people may not know is those songs were cry’s for help to God. At the time, adamariz not only debated giving up on music, but on life. However, God kept sending messages of hope, reminders that she’s chosen, and more importantly that she has a Savior that is there for her.
This leads us to another song that is a cry, but a cry of repentance, “MY FAULT (I’M SORRY)” ft. 350. Released in early 2022, shortly after a car accident that could’ve ended adamariz’s life, this song describes someone who has misrepresented Christ, lives in their sin, and is attempting to beg for forgiveness. Ultimately, the cover on the single shows, her focus was more on her sins, when it should’ve been above.
As we continue through the first part of the album, titled as the “(LOST ERA)”, “DEAR DAD,” takes an even more emotional turn. We see as adamariz struggles with the want for a dad, but also rejecting her dad, like he had made her feel so many times before. At the end of this song, adamariz exclaims that she is putting who she wanted her dad to be in a grave. She’s accepting who her dad is but simultaneously realizing she already has a Good Father! She then addresses her mother and family’s expectations of her life on “FUTURE”. This song is like adamariz said in her broadcast channel, is one of those songs where she “rapped like the rent was due”. This mentality came from a moment where her mom reminded her to go to school or get a check. Adamariz has always, and still believes she can make it full time in music. Despite this, adamariz is honoring her mother by getting her education and working part time while she waits for God to open doors. However , she is still putting in the necessary work in music, and leaving the impact to God. When she wrote the song, she was remembering the album “COLLEGE DROPOUT” by Kanye West. She also was, like the opening states, getting a “bunch of texts and emails, saying start your future”. When she asked Jericko to create the instrumental, her email was full of university’s and even the army attempting to get Adamariz to go various routes.
Then she mashes up “DREAM”, a song released in May of 2022, featuring Parris Chariz on the remix and Noexcuse on the original. The song was one of her most popular tracks in 2022 so she did her best to get the stems from the song together to do the mashup. In 2022, in the midst of creating the song, adamariz lost countless of archived files that had stems from old songs and this song. “DREAM” is important to the album because similar to “FUTURE”, she is describing how she believes she can make it in music, but is battling with her own doubts based on what she’s seeing in life.
The “LOST ERA” takes a shift as she begins to worship God in the midst of pain, betrayal, her grandma’s death, church hurt, and more on: “SOLO TU”, “HOLY”, “HOLY (REMIX)”, “HOLD ON”, & “HOLD ON (REMIX)”. As she worships God, things begin to shift yet again. Although some of those songs were made in early 2023, and others in late 2023/early 2024, they show how adamariz began to really hone in on worshipping God through rap, but also showed she really worships Him outside of the music.
With the “LOST ERA” concluding, we enter the deluxe with “STILL GOT FAITH”. If you are a day one fan from around 2017/longliveadamariz days fan, then you know this song is a remix of her hit single “FAITH”. For the longest time, this was a fan favorite. With updated mixing and mastering, a new verse, a more dynamic hook, yet the same captivating production, adamariz believes this will become a fan favorite yet again, and an even bigger hit. This song isn’t just about making a hit though, but rather proclaiming that she still has her faith with her at all times. In Ephesians 6:11, where it talks about always having the armor of God on, is where the bag line comes from. The shield of faith is meant to cover your from attacks from the enemy. You can wear it on your back or carry it in your hand, much like a bag. “FAITH IN A BAG” means just that, taking your faith with you everywhere you go, no matter the circumstances or situations that arise.
As adamariz remembers where her faith is, she also remembers her true identity, a “CHILD OF GOD”. This song was made to be similar but different to “My Name Is” by Eminem. In her early music career, before she was really serious about it, she would remix Eminem songs she liked and make them her own. This was a throwback feel but not a rip off of the beat. A lot of things were changed and made to accommodate how adamariz wanted it to feel. Although Mitch Darrell is a part of the song, another artist was originally teased to be on it. The plans fell through and adamariz began to search for a person who she felt would be lyrically captivating and understand the importance of doing the beat justice. What was sent back was just that. Adamariz also didn’t want the hook to remain as “my name is adamariz”. She felt the song wasn’t so much about who she is and her testimony but who she really is, a CHILD OF GOD!
Mitch Darrell, in a reaction video to “WORTHY!” said this song would be a great interlude. Although this song was on a Christmas album, it has made its way back to another album. How does it fit in this album? It was an important part of adamariz refining and finding her passion for production again. It also ties into more of her identity in Christ and ultimately remembering that in every season “worthy is His name”.
After hearing “PRAISE” by WHATUPRG, and then HEAVENONEARTH arising, adamariz asked herself when woman Christian rappers would join together to do something similar. After searching for beats for a while, adamariz gave up on searching. A day later, while scrolling on Instagram adamariz saw a post by Eli Williams regarding a beat sale. As soon as she heard the beat she said “this the one.” She checked her list to see which artist she’d DM first, however she was so excited she texted all of the ones on the final track and a few more. After months of waiting on vocals from everyone to be sent in, sending different versions, extending and modifying the beat “LOST & FOUND” was the last track to be completed from the album. Boasting features from 4 talented women CHH rappers known as Kidd Lee, Solachi Voz, VerbPro 12:4, and Megan Tossi, adamariz is excited for the song and to see how the public reacts.
“WINGS” is another favorite adamariz, with just the production. Adamariz texted Jericko with a very specific vision in mind and he executed that perfectly. The song is based on Psalms 91:4, where the hook stems from. In one of the first demos, adamariz sang the hook but after discussing how great the song was, Jericko replaced adamariz’s vocals, ultimately elevating the song. Kemvr comes in after the exquisite beat switch. This song, though it has a darker feeling beat, is meant to be a light for those in the dark.
“FOUND MYSELF” is a remix of “FINDING MYSELF”. It’s the exact same beat and background vocals, however the verses and outro vocals are different. This version is a response to longliveadamariz, saying that as adamariz she has found herself. Adamariz discusses various topics including, self doubt, demons, and other mental health issues. At the end she responds to her doubts in the final bars, “Remembered I'm holy, Remembered He chose me, Remembered all the times they told me, b-b-baloney”.
“HE AIN’T GO AWAY REMIX” ft. A3 & Mvkeyjj is one of adamariz’s all-time favorite songs. It’s a remix of a song that is the first time her and A3 worked on a song, but it’s also a song that made her realize the song would be on an album one day. Although for a long time she lacked the funding, the vision remained. Early 2024, adamariz began listening to the original version and decided to redo her verse. Along with that she contacted A3 to ask for a verse. In addition to a verse, he sent back a reimagined hook. This surprised adamariz however once she heard it, it was yet another confirmation that song should be on the album. After scraping multiple verses, adamariz opted to hit up Mvkeyjj for a feature. A day later she had an email with his vocals, and adamariz rushed to her home studio to remake her verse once last time. Now adamariz states, “this is one of my all time favorite collabs and songs I have made”.
“BLESSED NEVER STRESSED” is a song I produced and wrote one Sunday morning in January of 2024. adamariz was on a major time crunch because she was about to head out to church. When she left she only had the hook and first verse. Later that day, she listened back to the song and added 2 more verses. The song is still extremely short despite having 3 verses, something adamariz doesn’t typically do. Adamariz states this song was made in the midst of living in the goodness of God and leaving the music in His hands. No pressure, just a fun track. The main point remains, adamariz is focused on the blessings no matter how big or small, rather than the stressors that attempt to distract her from her purpose.
Much like the previous track, “AGRADECIDA” discusses why adamariz is thankful and trusts God, even financially. Adamariz shares her testimony about her before and after fully trusting God in all. Lexly Nirvana joins her on this track, and raps mainly in Spanish as well. Although this was adamariz’s first track with another female artist as seen in an earlier track, this was not her last. Adamariz wants to end the album grateful for everything God has done in her life and this is where we enter into the last 2 tracks, that speak more on gratitude and work ethic.
Although they aren’t listed as bonus tracks, track 24 also known as “PROMO”, and track 25, were last minute additions to the album. The album was going to end at track 23, since at the end of creation adamariz was 23. “PROMO” was actually originally someone else’s song, and when adamariz heard Not Klyde on it, she knew, it was going to be a hit! After laying down a verse however, and because of the amount of writing she had already done for the album, she kept drawing blanks for a second verse. Adamariz hit up frequent collaborator, Jericko. He has his hand on every song on the album with mixing and mastering but also some additional production and production in general. What she was sent back was beyond her expectations. Thus, “PROMO” is sure to be a hit. A hit about how God, does the promo. Yes, the artist put in the work, but at the end it’s not luck on whether or not the song takes off. It’s God’s hand and favor.
The final track, “WORK 4 IT” is another song that was added last minute. Adamariz, felt it in her heart to give Caleb Fields a chance to shine in the final track of the album. FOEVA, graced the hook with an effortless flow. This song sounds perfect for working out but also an anthem for when someone doubts who God can use.
